To drain fuel tank and remove cap, per-
form the following five steps:
Tool kit, general mechanic's (Item 113, WP 0338
Machine parked on level ground (TM 5-3805-248-
10)
Shop equipment, common no. 1 (Item 101, WP
Parking/emergency brake applied (TM 5-3805-248-
10)
Bowl lowered to ground (TM 5-3805-248-10)
Lifting device, 750-lb minimum capacity
Engine OFF (TM 5-3805-248-10)
Materials/Parts
Battery disconnect switch in OFF position (TM 5-
3805-248-10)
NOTE
To remove fuel tank, perform the follow-
ing five steps:
Fuel lines disconnected from fuel tank (WP 0035
Eyebolts, forged, 3/8-16NC

WARNING
DO NOT smoke or permit any open flame in area of machine while you are servicing fuel system. Be
sure hose nozzle is grounded against filler tube during refueling to prevent static electricity. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or equipment damage.
DO NOT perform fuel system checks, inspections or maintenance while smoking or near fire, flames or
sparks. Fuel may ignite, causing damage to machine and injury or death.
