4-bolt Split Flange. The 4-bolt split flange has a flange head that is clamped to a smooth face. The flange head
uses a performed packing that is squeezed between the head and the face (Figure 5). The face and end of
flange head must be free of nicks and scratches to seal properly. The packing must also be free of nicks or
cuts or the connection will leak.
