TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during proce-
drue. Ensure that any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable lifting capacity. Keep clear of
heavy part supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning may result in death or injury to
personnel.
NOTE
Torque converter weighs 194 lb (88 kg).

Attach a suitable lifting device to support torque con-

verter (3).
2.
Remove 12 bolts (2), clip (1), and torque converter (3)
from flywheel housing.
3.
Remove and discard O-ring seal from torque converter
(3).
INSTALLATION
1.
Install new O-ring seal on torque converter.

NOTE
Torque converter weighs 194 lb (88 kg).
2.
Attach a suitable lifting device to support torque converter (3).
3.
Install torque converter (3) on flywheel housing with 12 bolts (2) and clip (1).
4.
Install transmission oil and scavenger pump (WP 0149 00).
5.
Install elevator/water pump (WP 0159 00).
6.
Install hydraulic and steering pump (WP 0153 00).
7.
Install engine (WP 0122 00).
