ENGINE, EXHAUST AND COOLING SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES

MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
Engine Will Not Crank.
1.
Check starting and charging system.
1. Refer to Electrical Troubleshooting.
2. Go to Test 2.
WARNING
DO NOT perform fuel system checks, inspections or maintenance while smok-
ing or near fire, flames or sparks. Fuel may ignite, causing damage to machine
and injury or death to personnel.
2.
Check for seized components.
a. Remove drive shaft (WP 0293 00)
1. If engine turns, replace transmission
and attempt to bar over engine (WP
(WP 0286 00).
2. If engine still won't turn, go to Step b.
b. Remove fuel injection pump (WP
1. If engine turns, replace fuel injection
0273 00) and attempt to bar over
