Implement Pump Makes
Noise, Cylinder Rods Do
Not Move Smoothly and
Air Bubbles in Oil.
WARNING
Do NOT remove hydraulic tank filler cap or disconnect or remove any hydrau-
lic system line or fitting unless hydraulic system pressure has been relieved.
Hydraulic system pressure can be over 2,500 psi (17,237 kPa), even with engine
and pump OFF. To relieve pressure, lower all hydraulic attachments to the
ground and shut down engine. Move control levers through all operating posi-
tions, then SLOWLY loosen hydraulic tank filler cap. After maintenance,
tighten all connections before applying pressure. Escaping hydraulic fluid under
pressure can penetrate the skin, causing injury or death.
At operating temperature, hydraulic oil is hot. Allow hydraulic oil to cool before
disconnecting any hydraulics. Failure to do so may cause injury.
Hydraulic oil is slippery and can cause falls. To avoid injury, wipe up spilled oil
with rags.
1.
Check relief valve (WP 0312 00).
1. If relief valve opens at a low oil pressure
or is damaged or defective, replace (WP
0312 00).
2. If valve is OK, go to Test 2.
2.
Check implement pump (WP 0312
1. If implement pump is worn, damaged or
00).
defective, replace (WP 0322 00).
2. If pump is OK, go to Test 3.
3.
Check follow-up cylinder relief valve
1. If relief valves or check valves leak or
and check valves (WP 0308 00 and
are damaged or defective, replace (WP
WP 0309 00).
0309 00 and WP 0310 00).
2. If valve is OK, go to Test 4.
4.
Check seal on piston in steering
1. If seal is damaged or defective, replace
cylinder.
(WP 0308 00).
2. If seal is OK, go to Test 5.
5.
Check relief valve (WP 0312 00).
1. Replace relief valve if opens at a low oil
pressure or is damaged or defective (WP
0322 00).
2. If valve is OK, go to Test 6.
6.
Check implement pump.
1. If implement pump is worn, damaged or
defective, replace (WP 0322 00).
2. If problem still exists, perform steering
flow meter tee test (WP 0306 00).
