WARNING
When exiting operator compartment, do not grab or turn steering wheel. 621B Scraper will articulate.
12.
Exit operator compartment. Walk around and look for leaking hydraulic fittings and/or damaged hoses.
13.
Enter operator compartment. Raise bowl assembly.
14.
Engage transmission in forward or reverse and check parking brake holding capacity (TM 5-3805-248-10).
15.
Check steering. Gently turn wheel and see if 621B Scraper articulates.
16.
Release parking brake.
17.
Drive 621B Scraper.
SERVICING NEW EQUIPMENT
WARNING
Solvent cleaning compound MIL-PRF-680 Type III is an environmentally compliant and low toxic
material. However, it may be irritating to the eyes and skin. Use protective gloves and goggles. Use in
well-ventilated areas. Keep away from open flames and other sources of ignition.
Particles blown by compressed air are hazardous. DO NOT exceed 15 psi (103 kPa) nozzle pressure
when drying parts with compressed air. Use a maximum of 30 psi (207 kPa) when cleaning compo-
nents. DO NOT direct compressed air against human skin. Failure to follow this warning may result in
serious injury or death. Make sure air stream is directed away from user and other personnel in the area.
To prevent injury, user must wear protective goggles or face shield.
1.
Remove preservative compounds from metal surfaces with cleaning solvent.
2.
Clean all dust and dirt from seat, instrument panel, wiring, engine, radiator and other parts.
3.
INITIAL CHECKOUT/ADJUSTMENT
1.
Inspect equipment for damage from shipping. If equipment has been damaged, report the damage on DD Form 6, Pack-
aging Improvement Report. Refer to DA PAM 700-3 for instructions on preparation of DD Form 6.
2.
Check equipment against packing slip. Look for damage and check to see if 621B Scraper has been modified. Report
damage or modifications in accordance with DA-PAM 738-750.
3.
Inspect air cleaner service indicator (TM 5-3805-248-10).
4.
Check instrument panel and gages for damage. Test for correct operation (TM 5-3805-248-10).
5.
Inspect fuse box for broken or faulty fuses (TM 5-3805-248-10).
6.
Check control levers for breaks or bends.
7.
Inspect engine accessories, fan, air compressor and alternator for secure mounting, loose connections or loose belts.
8.
Inspect wiring for loose connections, damaged insulation and/or broken wires.
9.
Check that all drain plugs are securely tightened.
10.
Fill all fluids to correct level (TM 5-3805-248-10).
