OIL FILTER LINES AND FITTINGS REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
CAUTION
Wipe area clean around all connections to be opened during removal and disassembly. Cap oil lines and plug
openings after removing lines. Contamination of engine lubrication system could result in premature failure.
NOTE
Tag lines prior to removal to ensure correct installation.
Use a container to capture draining oil. Dispose of oil IAW local policy and ordinances. Ensure all spills
are cleaned up.
1.
Remove valve assembly (18) and preformed packing (19). Discard preformed packing.
2.
Remove eight bolts (15), washers (16) and four flange halves (17).
3.
Disconnect hoses (13 and 14).
4.
Remove two adapters (20) and preformed packings (21) from oil filter adapter (12). Discard preformed packings.
5.
Remove hoses (13 and 14).
6.
Remove two nuts (29) and washers (28).
7.
Remove two bolts (6), washers (7), oil filter head (5) and gasket (8) from oil filter adapter. Discard gasket.
8.
Remove four nuts (30), washers (31), bolts (1), washers (2), access cover (3) and gasket (4) from oil filter head (5). Dis-
card gasket.
9.
Remove two screws (24) and shield (25) from filter head (5).
10.
Remove stud (26) from oil filter head (5).
11.
Remove four bolts (23), washers (22) and oil filter adapter (12) from bracket (11).
12.
Remove two studs (27) from oil filter adapter (12).
13.
Remove two bolts (9), washers (10) and bracket (11).
