REMOVAL - CONTINUED
10.
Remove fuel injector lines (1, 2, 3, 4, 12 and 19).
11.
Disconnect six fuel injector tube assemblies (13) from six adapters (16) and remove adapters (16) and preformed pack-
ings (14 and 15) from fuel injector tube assemblies (13). Discard preformed packings.
CLEANING AND INSPECTION
WARNING
Solvent cleaning compound MIL-PRF-680 Type III is an environmentally compliant and low toxic
material. However, it may be irritating to the eyes and skin. Use protective gloves and goggles. Use in
well-ventilated areas. Keep away from open flames and other sources of ignition.
Particles blown by compressed air are hazardous. DO NOT exceed 15 psi (103 kPa) nozzle pressure
when drying parts with compressed air. Use a maximum of 30 psi (207 kPa) when cleaning compo-
nents. DO NOT direct compressed air against human skin. Failure to follow this warning may cause
injury or death. Make sure air stream is directed away from user and other personnel in the area. To pre-
vent injury, user must wear eye protection.
1.
Clean all parts with solvent cleaning compound.
2.
Dry all parts with compressed air.
3.
Inspect all parts for damage and replace as necessary.
INSTALLATION
WARNING
If fuel line mounting hardware is not installed in its exact location, vibration can cause fuel lines to break
and cause injury or damage to the machine.
CAUTION
The adapters must be turned so that the cross-drilled portion of the bleed hole points downward. If this
hole points upward, it can become plugged. A plugged bleed hole allows fuel to enter the engine and
dilute the oil if the internal fuel line leaks.
The fuel injection nozzles can be permanently damaged by twisting if only one wrench is used to
tighten the fuel line nuts. Use one wrench to hold the nozzle and another to tighten the nut.
Use two line wrenches when tightening fuel lines. Failure to do so may result in damage to lines.
1.
Install new preformed packings (14 and 15) and six adapters (16) on fuel injector tube assemblies (13) and tighten.
2.
Install six adapter locks (17) and nuts (18) on fuel injector tube assemblies (13).
3.
Install fuel injector lines (1, 2, 3, 4, 12 and 19) and connect loosely to six adapters (17).
4.
Install strip (24), washer (25) and bolt (26).
5.
Install damper (23), strip (22), washer (21) and nut (20).
6.
Install two strips (10), washers (5) and bolts (11).
