FAN ASSEMBLY
Check and adjust fan/alternator belts (see page 1-21). Apply a 25 lb force midway on the
belt. Deflection should b3 9/16 to 13/16 inch (14 to 20 mm).
BATTERIES
WARNING
Never disconnect any charging unit circuit or battery cable from battery when the charging
unit is being operated. A spark can cause an explosion from the flammable vapor mixture
of hydrogen and oxygen that is released from the electrolyte through the battery outlets.
Injury to personnel may result.
Check and perfrom battery maintenance (see TM 5-3805-260-10 and TM 9-6140-200-14).
HEADLAMPS, TAILLAMPS, BLACKOUT LIGHTS, FLOODLIGHTS
Inspect for operation.
HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVES
Inspect valves and linkages. Look for bent levers and control arms and worn bushings.
CARRIER ROLLERS
Adjust and service.
