REPAIR OF FACE SKIN DAMAGE (ALUMINUM-BONDED MATERIAL) - CONTINUED
WARNING

Mix sufficient quantity of EA9324 adhesive for repair. The adhesive has limited pot life; repair must be com-
pleted within that period of time.

Apply liberal layer of adhesive to both sides and all edges of new core material and position core material in
cutout.
q.
Apply thin, even layer of adhesive to bonding surfaces of face sheet and patch. Position patch in place with 1/
8 in. (3.18 mm) sheet fasteners.
r.
Install 1/8 in. (3.18 mm) universal head blind rivets in all drilled holes.

Remove any excess adhesive from outer surfaces of repair by wiping with cloth dampened in Dowclene EC.
Repair will be fully cured after approximately 7 days at 75F (24C) or 1 hour at 180F (82C). Approxi-

mately 70 percent of strength is reached after 24-hour cure at room temperature of 75F (24C).

After repair has cured for 24 hours, coat edges of patch and rivet heads with PRC 1422 B-2 sealant.

After repair, touch up with epoxy primer and CARC paint as required.
5.
Repair of Extended Punctures (Both Sheets).
NOTE
The following procedure should be used to repair punctures that go through both outside and inside face
sheets.
a. On panel face sheet, lay out rectangle with 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) radius rounded corners to encompass damaged
area.
b. Cut out face sheet within rectangle, using router bit chucked in 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) electric drill or use fine tooth
keyhole-type hacksaw.
c. Remove damaged face sheet.
