Weight of battery box cover is 41 lb (19 kg).

Remove battery box cover (12).

INSTALLATION
1.
Install battery box cover (12).
2.
Install four washers (11) and bolts (10).
NOTE
If handle was removed, perform steps 4 through 8. Otherwise, go to step 9.
3.
Install handle (4), pin (5) and washer (3) to cover assembly (12).
4.
Install new cotter pin (2).
5.
Install spring (9) and washer (8) on rod (1).
6.
Grasp rod (1) and compress spring (9).
7.
Install pin (7) through rod (1) and handle (4).
8.
Install new cotter pin (6).
9.
Connect battery cables (WP 0104 00).
10.
Operate machine and verify correct operation (TM 5-3805-248-10).
