BATTERY AND HOLDDOWN REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

NOTE
Inspect batteries for corrosion, damage or signs of leaking. Clean or replace as necessary.
REMOVAL
1.
Remove two bolts (7), washers (8) and holddowns (6).
2.
Remove two self-locking nuts (3) and washers (4) from rods (1). Discard self-locking nuts.
3.
Remove holddown (5).
WARNING
Use caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during procedure. Fail-
ure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
CAUTION
When removing a battery from a machine, note the location of the positive (+) battery terminal so that the
battery can be re-installed in the same position. This is to avoid danger of reversing the polarity. If battery
polarity is reversed, damage to equipment may occur.
NOTE
Weight of each battery is 90 lb (40 kg).
4.
Remove two batteries.
5.
Remove two rods (1) and nuts (2).
