MAGNETIC STRAINER REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
NOTE
Use a 5-gallon container to catch any draining oil. Dispose of oil IAW local policy and ordinances. Ensure
all spills are cleaned up.
1.
Slowly loosen four bolts (4) and allow transmission oil to drain.
2.
Remove four bolts (3), lockwashers (2) and cover (1) from pump housing. Discard lockwashers.
3.
Remove and discard preformed packing (6) from filter element (9).
4.
If necessary, remove two screws (5) and washer (4).
5.
Remove filter element assembly.

Inspect filter and magnet for foreign mate-

rial. If foreign material is found, notify
your supervisor.

Remove tube assembly (7) from filter element (9).

Remove magnet (8) from tube assembly (7).
