Remove gasket (21) from engine. Discard gasket.

CLEANING AND INSPECTION
1.
Use fresh water to thoroughly flush aftercooler.
2.
Inspect for excessive corrosion or other damage that could cause leaks. Replace if damaged.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install new gasket (21) on engine.
2.
Assemble air inlet heater (16), new gasket (20), and aftercooler (3).
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during proce-
dure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
NOTE
Aftercooler and air inlet heater assembly weigh 35 lb (16 kg).
When positioning aftercooler and air inlet heater assembly for installation, line up and loosely install all
coolant hoses to aftercooler.
