REMOVAL - CONTINUED
CAUTION
Wipe area clean around all connections to be opened during removal. Cap oil lines and plug openings after
removing lines. Contamination of engine lubrication system could result in premature failure.
NOTE
Tag lines and hoses prior to removal to ensure correct installation.

Remove clamps (2 and 4) and hose (3).
7.
Loosen clamp (7).
8.
Remove breather assembly (5).
9.
Remove clamp (7).
10.
Remove and discard preformed packing (6) from breather assembly (5).
CLEANING AND INSPECTION
WARNING
Solvent cleaning compound MIL-PRF-680 Type III is an environmentally compliant and low toxic
material. However, it may be irritating to the eyes and skin. Use protective gloves and goggles. Use in
well-ventilated areas. Keep away from open flames and other sources of ignition.
Particles blown by compressed air are hazardous. DO NOT exceed 15 psi (103 kPa) nozzle pressure
when drying parts with compressed air. Use a maximum of 30 psi (207 kPa) when cleaning compo-
nents. DO NOT direct compressed air against human skin. Failure to follow this warning may result in
injury or death. Make sure air stream is directed away from user and other personnel in the area. To pre-
vent injury, user must wear eye protection.
1.
Clean all plastic and rubber parts with detergent.
2.
Clean all other parts with solvent.
3.
Dry all parts with compressed air.
4.
Inspect all parts for damage and replace as necessary.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install new preformed packing (6) in breather assembly (5) on top of rear valve cover (8).
2.
Install clamp (7) and breather assembly (5).
3.
Install hose (3) and clamps (2 and 4). Do not tighten clamp (2).
4.
Install tube (1).
5.
Install clip (18), washer (17) and bolt (16).
6.
Install bracket assembly (12) and two bolts (10 and 11) on oil pan (9).
7.
Install clip (15), washer (14) and bolt (13) to bracket assembly (12).
8.
Tighten clamp (2).
