NOTE
To avoid air locks, add coolant slowly at five gallons or less per minute.
5.
Fill radiator with 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze (TB 750-651).
6.
Start engine (TM 5-3805-248-10).
WARNING
Wear effective eye, glove and skin protection when adding coolant while engine is running. Failure to do so
may cause injury.
7.
Add coolant to radiator to cover the low level plate.
8.
Run engine for approximately 10 minutes.
9.
Inspect coolant level in radiator. Add coolant as required.
10.
Install radiator fill cap (1) (WP 0043 00).
11.
Check for cooling system leaks (TM 5-3805-248-10).
12.
Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-248-10).
13.
Install crankcase guard (WP 0201 00).
