INSTALLATION
1.
From front of engine, rotate crankshaft counterclock-

wise until bearing journal for piston to be installed at
at bottom dead center.

Use clean oil to lubricate cylinder liner (13).

Dip piston (4) assembly in clean engine oil.

Make sure gaps are 120 degrees apart.

Inspect piston rings (7 and 8) and oil ring (9).

CAUTION
Be sure connecting rod bolts do not damage cylinder liner.

Insert piston (4) assembly in cylinder liner. "V" mark on piston must be in alignment with "V" mark on cylinder block.
Rest piston on oil ring (7).

Piston rings must be fully seated in
grooves of piston before installation of

Use piston ring compressor to install piston (4) assem-
bly in cylinder liner.
