TM 5-3805-260-24SCRAPER CONTROL VALVE1. Plug in line from the pump. 2. Relief valve.Remove plug (1) from the oil line from the pump andinstall the hose and gauge assembly.Start the engine and run it at low idle rpm. Raise thebowl as far up as it can go. Increase engine rpm, andslowly move the bowl lift lever to the UP position for nomore than 5 seconds. The high reading on the gauge isthe pressure setting for relief valve (2). The correctpressure setting is 2525 + 25 or -0 psi (177.5 + 1.8 or - 0kg/cm2) (17 425 + 172 or - 0 kPa).RELIEF VALVE2. Relief valve. 3. Shims. 4. Valve body.If the pressure setting of relief valve (2) was notcorrect, stop the engine. Remove relief valve (2) from thescraper control valve and install a new relief valve. If a new relief valve is not available, remove valvebody (4) from valve (2) and either add shims (3) toincrease or remove shims to decrease the pressuresetting of the relief valve. After a shim is either removed or added and valvebody (4) is installed on valve (2), install the relief valve inthe scraper control valve. Start the engine and makeanother relief valve test.Do not remove the test gauge if the ejector kickoutvalve is to be tested.EJECTOR KICKOUT VALVEInstall the 7S8714 Pressure Gauge and hose in theoil line from the pump to the scraper control valve. SeeRELIEF VALVE IN THE CONTROL VALVE for testgauge installation.Start the engine and hold the ejector control lever inthe OPEN-EJECT position until the floor is almost open.Run the engine at high idle rpm and move the ejectorcontrol lever to the CLOSE-RETURN position. Detentballs keep the lever in the CLOSE-RETURN position. The high pressure reading on the gauge at the time theejector control lever automatically moves to the HOLDposition is the pressure setting of the ejector kickoutvalve. The correct pressure setting of the ejector kick-out is 1900 + 100 psi (133.6 + 7.0 kg/cm2) (13 110 690kPa).EJECTOR KICKOUT VALVE1. Guide (with groove). 2. Piston (will fit in groove). 3.Plug. 4.1/8 in. hex wrench. If it is necessary to change the pressure setting ofthe ejector kickout valve, remove plug (3) from theejector spool spring and kickout valve housing on thescraper control valve.Use a 1/8 in. hex wrench (4) through the opening inthe housing, where plug (3) was removed, to push piston(2) into the groove in guide (1).Turn the wrench, the piston and the guide clockwiseto increase or counterclockwise to decrease thepressure setting of the elevator kickout valve. After an adjustment is made, test the pressuresetting of the elevator valve. When the pressure settingis correct, install plug (3). Stop the engine and removethe test equipment.4-28
