INTRODUCTION
1.
This work package describes how to load machine onto a trailer in preparation for ground transport.
2.
Ground guide assistance is MANDATORY when loading or unloading machine from trailer.
3.
Before transporting machine, check with proper authorities to obtain necessary permits and ensure there is adequate clear-
ance for ROPS (Rollover Protective Structure) and heater assembly.
4.
Throughout procedure, be aware of potential hazards when working around hitch. Do NOT work in area of hitch link
unless engine is shut down.
LOAD AND SECURE MACHINE ON TRAILER
1.
Raise scraper bowl as required to clear crest of ramp.
WARNING
Always use a ground guide when loading machine on trailer. Failure to use a ground guide may cause injury
or death or damage to equipment.
2.
Using ground guide, drive machine onto trailer.
3.
Place transmission in N (Neutral) and lock.
4.
Apply parking brake.
5.
Move ejector all the way to the rear and close apron.
6.
Lower bowl and position cutting edge onto suitable block.
7.
Shut down engine.
8.
Turn battery disconnect switch to OFF position and remove key.
CAUTION
Machines transported without proper safeguards may incur wind damage. Ensure all doors and com-
partments are securely latched and secured against flying open. Failure to do so may cause equipment
damage during transit.
Exhaust pipe must be taped closed to prevent wind from entering exhaust system and causing turbo-
charger to spin, without the benefit of lubrication. Failure to cover exhaust pipe may damage turbo-
charger.
9.
Use tape (Item 22, WP 0023 00) to cover exhaust pipe.
10.
Secure tractor and scraper in accordance with shipping data plate on machine.
11.
Loosen bolts, fold left side mirror inward and retighten bolts.
