MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION

3. If inoperative in medium speed only, go

Check for voltage to heater switch.
a. Place battery disconnect switch in
OFF position (TM 5-3805-248-10).
b. Set multimeter to appropriate
voltage range (WP 0018 00).
c. Disconnect heater switch assembly
electrical connections (WP 0222
d. Connect multimeter positive lead to
red wire of heater switch (harness
side) and multimeter negative lead
to chassis ground.
e. Place battery disconnect switch in

open circuit between fuse box and
heater switch (WP 0018 00).
2. If wiring is OK and battery voltage is
not indicated, replace heater circuit
breaker (WP 0222 00).
3. If battery voltage is indicated, make sure
blower motor ground is OK (WP 0018
4. If battery voltage is indicated and
ground is OK, replace heater switch

Check for continuity to heater blower
low speed terminal.
a. Place battery disconnect switch in
OFF position (TM 5-3805-248-10).
b. Disconnect heater blower and
switch electrical connections (WP
0319 00).
c. Set multimeter to appropriate ohm
(Ω) range (WP 0018 00).
