BRAKE SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES - CONTINUED

MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION

Service Brakes Do Not
Apply.
WARNING
Eye protection must be worn when performing maintenance where components
or particles could fly out during procedure. Failure to take precautions may
cause injury.
Make sure wheels are chocked and bowl is lowered to ground for all tests. Fail-
ure to do so may cause injury or death.

Check for brake actuator movement.
If air pressure does not build, go to

Check for leak in service brake

a. Run engine and allow air pressure to
reach normal operating range (TM

b. Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-248-
10).
c. Release park and emergency brakes
(TM 5-3805-248-10).
If leak exists, replace service brake
d. Apply and hold brakes. Listen for air
leak in line(s) between air brake
delivery line(s) (WP 0162 00 and WP 0166
relay valve(s) and actuator(s) that do
not move.
