Operate machine and verify normal operation (TM 5-3805-248-10).
NOTE
It may be necessary to recheck oil level in final drive after operating machine.

Shut down engine, check for leaks and recheck oil level (TM 5-3805-248-10).
REMOVAL
NOTE
This procedure is for the final drive from the front-right wheel; the procedure for the front-left wheel is iden-
tical.
1.
Drain final drive assembly. Refer to Drain and Refill steps 1 through 3 in this work package.
WARNING
Use caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during procedure.
Ensure that any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy
parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning may cause injury or death.
NOTE
Weight of carrier is 300 lb (136 kg).

Attach lifting device to carrier (8) assembly.
3.
Remove 22 nuts (5) and washers (6) from right front wheel of machine.
4.
With assistance, use lifting device to remove carrier (8) assembly.
5.
Remove driver (7).
