BRAKE ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
CAUTION
Wipe area clean around all connections to be opened during removal and disassembly. Cap lines and plug
openings after removing lines. Contamination of fuel system could result in premature failure.
NOTE
The following maintenance procedure is for the brake actuator assembly for the right wheel. The
replacement procedures for all other brake actuator assemblies are identical.
Tag hoses and fittings prior to disconnecting or removing to ensure correct installation.
1.
Run engine until normal air pressure is reached (TM 5-3805-248-10) to retract actuator rod.
2.
Remove cotter pin (6) and pin (5). Discard cotter pin.
3.
Drain air tanks (TM 5-3805-248-10).
4.
Disconnect two hose assemblies (1 and 2) from actuator (7).
5.
Remove two nuts (3) and washers (4).
6.
Remove brake actuator (7) from machine.
