MECHANICAL LINKAGE REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Remove nut (2), washer (3) and bolt (14) from lever (4).
2.
Disconnect rod assembly (1) from lever (4).
3.
Remove nut (7), bolt (8), lever (4) and key (6) from shaft (5).
4.
Remove two bolts (10), two washers (11 and 12) and plate assembly (9).
CAUTION
Removal of bearing from plate may result in destruction of bearing. Remove bearing only if inspection indi-
cates replacement is necessary.
5.
If damaged, remove bearing (13) from plate (9) assembly.
6.
Disconnect shaft (5) from steering gear (WP 0176 00).
7.
Remove shaft (5) through opening in engine compartment wall.
