Crankcase guards removed (WP 0201 00)
Rag, wiping (Item 35, WP 0339 00)
Battery cables disconnected (WP 0104 00)
Tag, marker (Item 42, WP 0339 00)
REMOVAL
NOTE
Tag all wire connectors, cables and wiring harnesses before disconnecting to ensure correct installation.

Remove nut (1) and lockwasher (2) from solenoid (4).

Discard lockwasher.

Disconnect wire connector (3).

Remove two nuts (8), lockwashers (9) and connector

(7). Discard lockwashers.

Remove four screws (5).
PLUNGER

Carefully pull solenoid (4) from plunger mounted in

starting motor housing (6).
