NOTE
If travel of lever is less than 1.12 in. (2.8 cm) or greater than 1.15 in. (2.9 cm), it will be necessary to add or
remove shim(s) in steering gear assembly.
8.
Remove operator compartment front access plate (WP 0197 00).
9.
Place a container under steering gear assembly.
10.
Remove plug (8) from steering gear assembly. Drain lubricant.
11.
Remove six bolts (6), washers (7) and cap (9) from steering gear assembly.
NOTE
If travel of lever is less than 1.12 in. (2.8 cm), add shim(s). If travel of lever is greater than 1.15 in. (2.9 cm),
remove shim(s).
12.
Remove or install shim(s) (5) as necessary.
13.
Install cap (9), six washers (7) and bolts (6) on steering gear assembly.
14.
Verify that travel of lever is greater than 1.12 in. (2.8 cm) but less than 1.15 in (2.9 cm).
15.
Remove six bolts (6) and washers (7) from steering gear assembly. Discard six bolts (6).
16.
Install six washers (7) and new bolts (6) on steering gear assembly torque IAW (WP 0335 00).
17.
Install plug (8) on cap (9).
18.
Lubricate steering gear assembly (WP 0176 00).
