start by:
a)
disassemble transmission
1.
Remove the bolts and locks from cage assembly
(1).
2.
Use two 3/8’’- 16 NC forcing screws and remove
cage assembly (1).
3.
Remove the bearing cup from cage assembly (1)
with tooling (A).
4.
Remove the seal rings from carrier (2).
5.
Remove spring pin (3) from cage assembly (1).
6.
Remove carrier (2) from cage assembly (1). The
carrier will have damage after removal. Use a
new part for replacement.
7.
Remove gear (4) from the transfer gear case.
8.
Remove ring (6) from gear (4).
9.
Remove bearing cones (5) from gear (4) with
tooling (B).
