TM 5-3805-260-24OUTPUT TRANSFER GEARS21.Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket in the seal bore of cage(22) and let it dry. Use tool group (A) and a press toinstall the lip type seal in the output shaft frontbearing cage (22).NOTE: The seal must be installed with the lip of the sealtoward the inside of the cage as shown.22.Install O-ring seal (24) on cage (22).23.Lower the temperature of bearing cup (23) andinstall it in cage (22).24.Install cage (22) and shims (25) in the outputtransfer gears case.25.Use tool group (B) and check the output shaft endplay. The end play must be .003 to .005 in. (0.08 to0. 13 mm). If the end play is not correct, add orsubtract shims (25) from under cage (22) to get thecorrect amount of end play.26.Install yoke assembly (29), O-ring seal (28), retainer(27) and bolt (26) on the output shaft. Tighten bolt(26) to a torque of 80 5 lb.ft. (110 7 7 N m).3-226
