MALFUNCTION

Engine Cranks Slowly.
WARNING
Remove all jewelry, watch, rings, etc. prior to disconnecting cables from batter-
ies or other electrical source. Items can come in contact with battery or electrical
source and cause electrical shock. Failure to follow this warning may cause
injury or death.
Make sure wheels are chocked and bowl is lowered to ground for all tests. Fail-
ure to do so may cause injury or death.
Eye protection must be worn when performing maintenance where components
or particles could fly out during procedure. Failure to take precautions may
cause injury.
NOTE
1.
Check batteries for overheating.
a. Pull accelerator pedal past detent to
prevent engine from starting and
crank engine for 15 seconds (TM 5-
3805-248-10).
WARNING
Touch terminal connections one at a time; never touch both terminals at once.
Be sure not to be grounded to machine when checking. Failure to follow these
instructions may cause injury or death.
b. Place battery disconnect switch in
OFF position (TM 5-3805-248-10).
c. Feel battery terminal connections.
1. If battery terminal(s) are hot, clean
corroded connection(s) and tighten all
loose connections at batteries, ground
and starter.
2. If problem still exists, go to Test 2.
