TM 5-3805-260-24ELEVATOR LOWER SHAFT10. Pull shaft back in the housing and install the seal withtooling (B) on both sides. Install the seal until it makescontact with the counterbore in the housing in the housingand with the lip of the seal toward the outside of the housing.11. Put the shaft back in original position and install therollers again.12.Install hub (5) completely on the shaft.13.Hold straight edge from housing to edge of rolleras shown.14.Move the roller as shown. Measure the end play of theroller. Use the measurement for the number of washers(shims) for .00 to .06 in. (0.00 to 1.5 mm) end play total forboth sides.15.Remove hub (5) from the shaft.16. Install the seal in hub (5) with tooling (B). Install the sealuntil it makes contact with the counter-bore in the housing andwith the lip of the seal toward the outside of the housing.4-154
